About Will

William Henry is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Certified Nature Informed Therapist who provides psychotherapy to children, adolescents, and adults. He graduated from New York University in 2016 with a Master of Social Work degree, specializing in substance abuse and co-occurring disorders. After the realization that his calling was working with children and adolescents, he worked in the foster care system for a short time. But it was during his time at a day treatment center/school, serving students with emotional and developmental disabilities, that he was able to gain the knowledge and clinical experience to hone his vision. In 2022, Will trained at The Center For Nature Informed Therapy and became certified in that practice as well, adding a more scientific base to his already thorough knowledge about the benefits of nature on our psychological and physiological selves.

Will's connection with nature has undoubtedly been one of his life's most powerful influences. From twice-yearly camping trips to the Great Smoky Mountain National Park with his family as a young child to spending countless hours playing in the forest, he essentially grew up with nature intertwined with his being and belief systems. He currently enjoys hiking, camping, fly fishing, and joining his family in their respect for, and amazement with the natural world. He envisions a continued lifetime of respectful engagement with nature, borrowing from its strength, peace, and tranquility to nurture his own soul, and helping others achieve the same in their lives.

“The Peace of Wild Things”

When despair for the world grows in me
and I wake in the night at the least sound
in fear of what my life and my children’s lives may be,
I go and lie down where the wood drake rests
in his beauty on the water, and the great heron feeds.
I come into the peace of wild things
who do not tax their lives with forethought
of grief. I come into the presence of still water.
And I feel above me the day-blind stars
waiting with their light. For a time
I rest in the grace of the world, and am free.
